The U16's are really a youth team of Draperstown Celtic F.C., who play in the Intermediate Northern Ireland League. About 4 years back, the club started an U13 side that had resonable success in its 2-3 years. They got to a few finals.
However, since then, underage soccer in Draperstown has been non-existant and with Maghera Colts folding, many young players in the district were left club-less.
So in July, the club started a U16 and a U12 side. Both teams have now played a few matches and things are really looking up. The futures bright, the futures orange
The managers are Joe "Soapy" Convery and Marty O'Kane. The team has high hopes for this season. The side has attracted players from as far away as Maghera.
